Woolworth on 5th

Repeat client, TomKats Hospitality, brought in R.C. Mathews to oversee the restoration effort for what Eater Magazine called, “The Most Historically Important Restaurant in Nashville.”  R.C. Mathews Contractor worked to restore the 1930 building from its original use as the F.W. Woolworth department store into one of the hottest new restaurants and venues in town.

The restoration effort included refnishing the original terrazzo foors on all three levels, restoring the original Art Deco cast iron railings, and reconstructing much of the existing plaster work. Historical images were referenced for recreating the bar and staircase finishes.
