The Downtown YMCA expansion consists of renovating approximately 60,000 sf of the existing facility with construction of 67,000 sf of new space. The new facility includes a wellness center, elevated running track, administration offices, locker rooms, spinning rooms, racquetball courts and a below grade, 160 car parking garage.
The 6-level concrete frame was constructed adjacent to the existing YMCA and connected on several levels. The Y remained operational during the entire construction period and only shut down for six days during cut-over for new electrical switchgear.
