Mathews for two summers during college, where I was able to contribute to projects like The Fisher Center for the Performing Arts and Hewlett Hall (formerly known as Caldwell Hall) at Belmont University. During my final semester, I continued part-time as a carpenter/laborer, which gave me even more hands-on experience in the field. Through that time, I learned everything from punch lists and scheduling to subcontractor coordination, inspections, and rough carpentry. Those experiences made the transition to my full-time role as a Field Engineer after graduation feel seamless, and it prepared me to take on real responsibility from day one.”
